Terms of Service

You will create an account using a chosen anonymous username (5-10 characters, letters, numbers, and underscores only) and a password. Campus Whispers does not collect or require real names, emails, or any personal information.

• Your username is permanent and cannot be changed once set
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password
• One account per person multiple accounts are prohibited
• Creating accounts to evade a ban or manipulate engagement is a permanent-ban offence

All content on Campus Whispers must be text-only. You may not post images, links, files, or media of any kind. Content is permanent once posted you cannot edit or delete your own posts. Removal happens only through moderation.

You agree not to post content that:

• Contains hate speech, slurs, or discrimination based on race, gender, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation
• Threatens, harasses, or bullies specific individuals
• Contains personal information of others (doxxing)
• Promotes illegal activities or controlled substances
• Is spam, advertising, or commercial promotion
• Impersonates university faculty, staff, or administration
• Contains sexually explicit or graphic material

The Whisper system is Campus Whispers' engagement mechanism, similar to upvotes. You may whisper once per post (toggle on/off). Whisper counts contribute to post ranking and are publicly visible.

Posts must belong to exactly one university community. You may post in any community regardless of your actual university affiliation. Communities are managed by the platform administrator.

Users may suggest new communities through the Contact Admin feature on the homepage. The administrator reserves the right to create, modify, or remove any community at their discretion.

Campus Whispers uses layered moderation to keep communities safe:

• A banned word filter automatically blocks certain content at submission time
• Rate limiting prevents spam limits apply per post, comment, and whisper
• Posts receiving sufficient community reports are automatically hidden pending review
• The administrator can delete posts, ban users, and manage all communities

If you see content that violates these terms, use the reporting feature. Reports are reviewed by the platform administrator. Reported content may be hidden or removed at the administrator's discretion.

By posting content on Campus Whispers, you grant the platform a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free license to display your content as part of the community feed and associated features.

You retain authorship of your content but acknowledge that it is posted anonymously and cannot be attributed to your real identity by Campus Whispers or other users.

Campus Whispers is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The platform is not responsible for:

• User-generated content or opinions expressed on the platform
• Platform downtime, data loss, or service interruptions
• Actions taken by users based on information found on the platform
• Disputes or conflicts between users

Your use of Campus Whispers is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By accepting these terms, you acknowledge and accept the Privacy Policy in its entirety.

Campus Whispers is an independent platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any university, college, academic institution, or any government body. Any university names that appear as community labels are used purely for organisational reference and do not imply any formal relationship.

These terms may be updated as the platform evolves. The revision date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. Continued use of Campus Whispers after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
